Hey fellas,

As most of you know I just picked up Shadowrun and have been
experimenting with the games concepts.

I also just bought Blue Planet. I must say I'm at a loss.

I like the Shadowrun setting, to a certain degree, but I don't
like the PC generation. Also, if i'm going to play a cyber-punk game I
don't want elves, trolls and orks in it. Not to mention magic.

However, these things are very much intertwined in the setting. I
don't think I'll be playing any Shadowrun in the near future. However,
there are a few ideas that I would like to expand on and I think I
will use the SR world in some short fiction.

If you have the time, and the $$, check out Blue Planet.

Then you likely would want to play Cyberpunk. However, I do not find the
system as great as Shadowrun.

Well, systems are a dime a dozen - so are settings. The problem is
either finding a pair that you like or jury-rigging one to fit the
other.

Shadowrun has a unique blend of cyber and magic which lets it stand
out from the crowd...

Some other cyber-punkish/apocalyptic-type games are:
Bubblegum Crisis (Fuzion system)
Cyberpunk (Interlock system, moving to Fuzion)
Millenium's End (kind of Mission Impossible/Shadowrunning in the near
future)
Silhouette games (Heavy Gear, Jovian Chronicles, Tribe 8 - these
settings aren't *really* cyberpunk, but they've got a clean system
and some of the Heavy Gear RPG stuff could be used)

Any other suggestions?

Then play _Cyberpunk_ by Ral Talsorian Games, or pick up _GURPS_ and
_GURPS: Cyberpunk_. If you're really desperate you could find ICE's
_Cyberspace_ used, but it's not worth the 5 bucks I spent on it.

If you go the GURPS route, you get to build your own entire world from
scratch just how you want it.
