Hi!

I recently got my copy of Cyberpirates,
and when I read it the third time, I saw
the Availability rating for the two
underwater firearms, the M24 and AAL.

I think that 4 or 6, respectively, is
too low for these specialised guns, and
as the description for the M24 says it
is a SEAL team commissioned gun, I would
raise it to 16 or the like...

What do you think about this?
Original stats just right? Why?

Who the hell _wants_ them? I mean, you've got a crate of specialist
underwater killing weapons... what the hell can you sell them for? They're
no bloody use to most urban shadowrunners. Limited supply, but also very
limited demand. So, it's not too hard to come by them: provided you don't
mind word going out through the fixer network that someone was asking.

Sometimes, those weapons will be rare as gold dust. (Especially if the PCs
are unwise enough to indicate any urgency about their requirement).

Other times... some fixers would sell them on cheap just to clear room
for more salable stock.

And someone asking for them would tend to stick in the memory. That is
the _real_ downside of such weapons.

Agreed. They would be noticed for sure, but my problem is that these
highly specialized weapons seem to be factured by the thousands,
they are as likely to get as a SMG.
For Real-Life check: ever tried to get a HK P11? The fancy underwater
pistol in use by many underwater operation units?

I thought the underwater-firing rifles in Cyberpirates had such low Avail
ratings because FASA wanted us to play pirate. :-)

Nah... drinking rum on a small caribb island, with some beautiful
girls, and boarding some galleo... äh... freighters from time to time
should be enough.
The guns are there to attract _munchkins_ :)

Yeah. But how many pirates are there in the world?

What I'd have is the availability be around that where they might be
purchased reasonably often but never in stock in most places.

I can't get a rocket launcher or assault cannon either.

A lot less than those guns for sure (IMO)

That wouldn't be 5/48h for sure

Sure, same for me. But I could get a AK74, with about 100 rounds of
ammo :) ... and these items are heavily restricted where I live.
