Hoi all! :)

I just got my hands on a 1st edition Universal Brotherhood sourcebook,
including the adventure entitled "Missing Blood".

I have a few questions before I get too into it:

Was a 2nd edition version of this ever released? If so, did it make this
one obsolete? If not, what should I do to convert it to 2nd edition? (The
number on the book is 7205, btw.)

I have been looking for this sourcebook for along time (since it's out of
print), but I am unsure if a 2nd edition version was ever released.

Thanks for your help! :)

Justin :)

I don't believe that there was ever a 2nd edition "replacement" for it,
however Queen Euphoria has an identacle product #, and a similar storyline
to UB (from what I remember of it.)

As to converting it,... ... ... I'd say just use the storyline, and
concepts and make the stats up to fit your players and game. You could
also look to Queen Euphoria, Bug City, Target UCAS, and Threats
sourcebooks for aditional info and updated stats. (If you want to stick
directly to official stats)

I think that most of us on this list can relate to searching for out of
print stuff...

As far as I know, no second printing for second edition was ever
released. Pity, it's a great adventure. There are rules in SR2 for
converting from 1st to 2nd eds.

No 1st edition runs were ever converted to 2nd ed. Conversion of raw stats
and the like can be found in the 2nd Edition rules, pg. 282-3. You might
also want to take into consideration that the stats for the... enemy...
found in recent products differ in some important ways from the stats for
that same enemy in Missing Blood.

Euphoria and Missing Blood are really only similar in that their villans
are similar. When we ran them, they felt very different from each other. On
the other hand, my perceptions may be abit askew, because our GM at the
time ran Queen Euphoria, Bottled Demon and the run from NAN 1
simultaneously.

BTW, the e-mail transcript in the UB packet remains some of the best
writing FASA has ever published.

Nope... This wasn;t ever reprinted (What modules, if any, were?).

As for changes, just damage codes for weapons and maybe a few changes on
the bugs to update them to Second Edition Bug Spirits, but even they
shouldn;t need to be changed too much...

BTW: This is a GREAT module. :] I'm also lucky enough to own one :]

QE was a misprint. QE is a sligtly older module, and my copy has a "Stock
Correction: #7304" on it over top the Product Code Number. I also have an
old Order Form that came in DMZ (Yes, I actually own that:)) that also says
that QE is 7304.

I doubt it, as AFAIK no adventure was ever updated to second edition. As
for the changes, this is easy enough, but I'll do it after a bit of
spoiler space after the next paragraph.

A lot of people here have... I was lucky to find a copy a few months back
for about the same price as a brand-new adventure :)

Mostly, the changes necessary involve the weapons carried by NPCs. For
example, on page 22 the gangers have Ares Crusader MPs that are said to do
4M2 damage and throwing knives for (str/2)L1. Change these to the SRII
equivalents -- 6L and (str)L -- and do the same for all the other NPCs.

The dice pools are also in need of change, as SRII altered them. If you
use normal dice pools for NPCs, calculate them from their stats as for
PCs, while if you use Threat Rating (much easier) just pick a TR that
looks right for the NPC. For example, the gangers are average opponents
(they shouldn't be able to geek the PCs right away, IMO) so a TR of 2 or 3
seems about right.

Then the spirits, the main reason I added the spoiler space... For them, I
think the best solution is to find their Force and look up their SRII
stats in the Grimoire II or Bug City. This mainly involved their
initiative ratings, as in SRI these were much lower because of a
slightly different way of handling initiative. And like the NPCs, the
damage caused by the spirits will be different in SRII than SRI.

On the whole, though, converting adventures is easy enough because only
minor things like some game stats need to be adjusted for second edition.
Usually you can look them up in another book quite simply.
