Hey, shapechangers aren't really munchkin. I've seen a vampire and a
werewolf played, and both are quite fascinating to watch. But I can
guarantee you the werewolf isn't munchkinous, as it can only wear 100%
natural clothing and change and expect to get it back. For example, for
armor, I think he went out and killed a cow, dried the skin into leather,
and made himself a jacket out of it for a rating of 1/2 or something silly
like that. Translation: if he jumps out in front of a pretty nasty gun,
he's fragged. (But then, that's why they stick me in front. I'm the one
with the armor.:)

But, on the other hand, there's this 15-die attack he gets while in wolf
form............

I wouldn't let a shapechanger keep *any* clothes through a change,
natural sources or not. Shuck 'em or lose 'em.

Simple. Wearing clothing of any kind at contains unnatural fibers: *poof*
it's a wolf; *poof* it's a NAKED man. i.e., if he changes to wolf form
while wearing anything that can't be absorbed into the body, he's either
going to be pretty damn embarrassed when he changes back to human, or his
going to be on a leash for a while..:) This gives him an EXTREMELY limited
selection for armor, and thus makes him very subsceptible (sp???) to
gunfire.

Also note that the werewolf was designed by a known Real Roleplayer, for
the fun of it.

Agreed. It's not a part of you. You'd have to pay /karma/ to get it to
change with you. And then I'd rule that it'd have to be a LOT of Karma...
most shapeshifters (if i'm not mistaken... it's been a looong time) have
their own 'societies'. They live in either form (animal or human) but, am
I correct in remembering that the animal is their original? I believe
they're even born in that form, whether to another shifter or not.
Potentially killing the mother if she is not a shifter, and the child is a
larger type animal, like bear or tiger. (sorry for grossing you guys out
if I did.)

Anyway, that puts the individual at naturally naked. (save fur) So...
shifting w/clothes is /not/ normal, or part of their inherent magic. And
it would be very difficult to learn how to do so. I'd almost rule that
the shifter would have to be in initiated shaman, or at least a magic
wielder of some sort, to even hope to understand how to manipulate himself
like that.

Yup. checked the rules.

page 230 Shadowrun ed.2: "Shapeshifters are born in animal form, in
numbers typical for the animal. Some of the litter may not be shapeshifters."

Sounds like a shifter /must/ be born to a shifter now... But I wouldn't
necessarily rule that. I think a few elves are still being born to
humans. I reckon I'd use the same rule for shifters.

It continues...

"It is a common misconception that shapeshigers are humas that change into
animals. That is not true: shapeshifters begin their lives as animals,
and remain animals that turn into humans."

Hence, clothing is very unnatural.
