Out of interest, What countries are people from on this list?

I can already start the list, but add your own if you like. It would be
interesting to see just how far and where the influence of ShadowRN has
spread across the globe.

It actually does, Gurth. Addresses that end in one of those three originate
in the US. Now, I will admit that with the spread of Hotmail, AOL, and
Yahoo, that is of much less use, sinc epeople can subsribe to those services
without being in the US, but it does give a starting place.

Other contry domains that I know of include:
.jp Japan
.au Australia
.nz New Zeland
.ph the Phillipines

.net stands for network. But anyway .com and .net are being used pretty
much and they don't always reflect the exact nature of the page.
Another one btw is .mil which is for military.

And don't forget .edu for education. Used by all the major
universities (at least here in america).

Oh and the British Companies use .co.uk instead of .com :-))

Have we gone too far with this off-topic? :-)))

Plus that's _ALL_ about to change. As soon as domain name registration passes
hands (as it's about to), one thing they're planning is to break up the ".com"
into a whole host of new categories. So, you'll see things like:

http://David.Letterman.person
http://McDonalds.store
http://Charles.Schwab.firm

I hope the days of .ca .jp & .nl (AND their usefulness) aren't gone, but it's
looking that way.
