Being an old hand D&D/AD&D/AD&Dr2(tm)(R)(C)(...) Dungeon Master I was able to
solve this problem rather quickly. Let them play them and discover the
lonelyness. Dragons (in D&D) are very solitary and Vampires (again, in D&D
and most other settings I would imagine) are quite singleminded and
self-important. A Vampire would have followers in the true sense of the word
and wouldn't buddy around with others of their kind.
Of course, I'm rather new to SRun (only a couple or three years) so am not
fully up on the paranormal monster types.
