Froff:
After looking throught my shadowtech book, I was trying to work out the essence
cost for a C2 deck for one of my PC's, when the thought struck me that it
should be possible to place to components of a cyberdeck in to a cyberlimb.
It would be expensive to get specially molded boards, but it would be more than
fessible and think, the advantages of a C2 deck without the essense cost.
Has any one got any comments ?

Snipers.
The Tailored Phermones. If a sniper had these and unless he could turn them
off, wouldn't that leave a very personal signature (read Big clue) to who
fired the shot not to mention the chance of being smelled ?

New GM, old Player :GMing Games
Creating a short term campain, is a good way to start off. It allow the GM to
direct the group in a direction, rather than have them wandering from FASA
adventure to FASA adventure :-). You can throw in all sorts of different 'runs'
and let the players piece together what the plot is. It makes my lot happier
if they think they know what's going on *grin* and give the Ref a good deal
of reality tweeking, if you come up with better ideas.

Autofire Stuff:
One of the guys on the list did a good job on the Autofire rules, I think it
was Esper ? Anyway, I use 7 rounds for SMG's, 10 for Assult rifles and 15
for Miniguns. Oh and I still use the *3 rule, that is in full auto fire you
times the number of round fired by three to find how many rounds have been
expended. ie You choose to fire 6 rounds at the target in autofire. The clip
becomes (6*3) 18 rounds lighter.

Riggers Making Vehicles:
I found the best way to build vehicles from scratch is either to find the
vehicle in the real world and convert it in to Shadowrun. Use the real price
and then add the cost of extras (Pop up turrets etc) in to the cost.
Or for the loonies who want their characters to build a car, they need
a facility and lots of spares. Charge about 7,500 for each point of body, add
a multiplier if necessary. The body is only the chasis and minimal wiring, not
the engine or other extras.

Problem is, even though the vehicle I want in SR exists now, it only exists
as a prototype (read: no cost figures). So, how does that convert? How does
one figure Body? Bunches of questions...

(Stellar down due to TD :( ) | your shoulders."

Right, I see your problem. In that case a bit of creative licence (bullshitting)
is called for.

Example: The New Jaguar Sports car. Seen the picture and a quote that it does
around 250mph, is an amazing smooth ride (as always) and computerised engine.

To convert : look at the sport car section in the riggers, use (for sports
cars) say about 90k staring price, if it's an imported veicle added about 20K.
Add in extras from book.
Now, here's where your perceptions come in to it. I see the Jag as big, solid
rugged car, which are tougher than normal sports cars, so I'd give it a body of
3. The sale material said it goes fast, so it does around 90/260 per turn.
The fuel consumpsion is terrible so about 15/litre. And the Comp. system gives
it a high Auto Pilot 3 or 4

So I end up with a Jaguar Sport XXX which costs around 160k has a load
of safety options, Body 3 Armour 6 AP 3 Speed 90/260 Handle 3/7 and so on.
Talk the price out with a fairly neutral party if it seems silly, just try of
the balance right. If you want to stick a super turbo booster on, just
add some disadvantage, it doesn't have to be a huge handling, it could be just
a mind blowing price !

Nicking vehicles from other systems is a good method too, because they give
fairly good guide lines.

Hope that helps. As far I am concerned FASA probably just made it all up anyway
*grin* so we should do the same.

I think the addition of tailored pheremones to our ideal sniper was more
of an addittion to the "assassin" side of the coin.

Regarding the C2 deck in cyber arm idea:
Another advantage that you failed to mention is that it would be much
easier to repair or upgrade the deck. Instead of opening up your head,
it would only be necessary to flip open the cyber arm. I sthink there
would be some essence cost however, as you would probably need to run a
lot of connections between the C2 deck and the characters brain.

A friend of mine had an interesting idea. He has a C2 deck, but wired a
Sat uplink into his arm. Not a bad idea, really.

Also the price for a prototype (if you could find one :) would be far greater
than the same vehicle produced from a production line. Also chances are that
the cost of assmbly line production would have dropped by quite a bit because
of computers playing a bigger role in production and also that slave labor
(read: People below the poverty line) would be very cheap for that type of work.

Just my 2c.

Geoff.
