Both I and my GM find some of these rules very
confusing, particularly the rules for AV weapons.
If someone could clarify whether or not the following
examples are correct or not we would appreciate it.

Steel Lynx Drone (Arm 16) gets shot at by normal
rounds. These rounds would need a base power of 34 to
stand any chance of harming the drone. (Base Power/2,
then compared to armour rating. If equal or less no
effect)

Same Drone (Arm 16) gets shot at by AV rounds. If
these rounds need a base power of 9 to affect the
drone at all. (AV rounds at full power & halve armour.
If armour still equals the power of the AV round it
bounces off)

Is this right? If so it does mean some drones (like
the steel lynx) with the load to really stack up on
armour really need AT missiles to take them out.

According to Steven Hadfield, on Tue, 07 May 2002 the word on the street was...

A Steel Lynx has armor 9 according to the latest vehicle book, Rigger 3.

With armor 16, that's true, yes. With armor 9, you need a Power Level of
"only" 20. That still requires a rather heavy weapon, as even a normal assault
cannon round will bounce off.

Again, assuming rating 16 armor, this is right. With armor 9, you need a Power
Level of 5.

Yep. Some of the shadowtalk in Fields of Fire mentions that armor tech is
ahead of anti-armor tech in SR, which you can use as an explanation if you
need one.
