Considering that critter powers have range LOS, Touch or Self, and are
targeted in the same manner as spells, I'd feel this would be a safe bet.
What the banshee doesn't see with LOS it can't affect. IMO the rigger is
perfectly safe.

P.S. Until the rigger meets the banshee which doesn't follow that
restriction. Critters are peculiar. :-)
