If vehicle armor is treated like a barrier, why isn't the vehicle
itself treated like a barrier? It would make vehicles a *lot* more
resistant to damage (I think).

Per the rules damage to inanimate objects use the rules for
Barriers. You could drop the vehicle damage rules and use the
Barrier rules and save a lot of time and effort, IMO.

That's more or less what Damion and I suggested for vehicle armor
degradation (the text is on Paolo's site somewhere) but it adds a lot of
work to vehicle combat.

FWIW, my brain is chugging away on some new rules for damage
resolution concerning vehicles and structures. "Coming soon to a Web page
near you." :)

Also, I realized that since I've invested so much time on ShadowRn so
easily, it shouldn't be that hard to actually sit down and completely
write some stuff up. Who knows, maybe I'll actually write that book
:) (Look out Jak.)

Check out "Jane's Rigger Registry"-- which I began writing almost a year
ago-- on my web page. Its better than the old RBB (IMHO) but it may need a
partial rewrite (to take advantage of some of the new ideas put forth in
R2) before I would use it in a Shadowrun campaign. It doesn't cover things
like building vehicles, security riggers, and such; only vehicle combat and
modifications. It's only at version 0.9 at the moment so I've still got an
excuse to release v1.0. *Any* suggestions will be welcome.

JRR handles all vehicle components as if they had barrier ratings (glass,
tires, body panels, etc.) and goes from there. There are some surprising
similarities between some of my ideas and those produced by Mr. Szeto,
which makes me feel that my work was at least on the right track towards
improving the original RBB rules (even though it was turned down by FASA).
