Beggin' your pardon sir, didn't mean to avery the issue. At a first
glance thats how it read to me, but, back to the issue at hand.

You would like a realistic way on play how to attack drones?
<P.S. this will also work for vehicles.>
<P.P.S. I mean come on now I could easily see someone doing deadly
damage to a car door without affecting the speed/sensors/weapons/
etc... etc... etc...>

well...
(this will take some work upfront but will be more realistic)
First determine size of the drone/vehicle
Then determine the different zones of the drone/vehicle
then determine either the size of the zone or # of zones
for a specific drone/vehicle.
(either you have all the zones relatevly the same or a #
of zones determined by the size)

(every area has a possibility of damaging some sensors)
1) front
front center (radiator etc...) (possible weapon mounts)
front top (hood (engine/batteries))
front right (right front quarter panel) (possible weapon mounts)
front left (left front quarter panel) (possible weapon mounts)
front bottom (chasis/engine/batteries/steering)
2) back
back center
back top (trunk (or engine/batteries))
back right (right back quarter panel) (possible weapon mounts)
back left (left back quarter panel) (possible weapon mounts)
back bottom (chasis/gas tank/batteries/engine)
3) right
right center (doors/windows/*passengers*)
right top (roll-bars/turret/sensors)
right front (right front quater panel) (tires/partial-engine)
right back (right rear quater panel) (tires/partial-engine)
right bottom (chasis/sensors)
4) left
left center (doors/windows/*passengers*)
left top (roll-bars/turret/sensors)
left front (left front quater panel) (tires/partial-engine)
left back (left rear quater panel) (tires/partial-engine)
left bottom (chasis/sensors)
5) top
top center (roll-bars/turret/*passengers*)
top right (roll-bars/*passengers*)
top front (engine/Veh. Control Gear/Windshield)
top back (engine/rear window/drone rack)
top left (roll-bars/*passengers*)
6) bottom (only in some cases)
bottom center (transmition/suspension)
bottom right (tire/partial suspension/steering)
bottom front (engine/chasis/sensors/gear box/etc...)
bottom back (engine/chasis/sensors/gas-tank/etc...)
bottom left (tire/partial suspension/steering)

<I mean come on if your hitting a bread box size drone with a halberd
it's going to be toast (if it gets through the armor)>
In the case of a bread box size drone a sword/halberd can hit 3 of 5
zones. i.e. front/top/back front/left/back left/top/right etc...
a gun could hit 2 zones left-right front-back left-bottom (going
through the vehicle)

as far as pass through capabilities left door -> passenger -> door
(if it still has power to go through each)
an engine would have a hardened armor value = body (this just
determines if the bullet/weapon stops it still take the damage)

any other things can be added and all you need to do is determine
what zone your parts are in etc...
i.e. a crash cage should be equal to the unaugmented body of the car
for stopping bullets. Or its' possible to have your own security
system be set off (while your in it) if you take damage in the
appropriate areas.
Another reason for this is that you shouldn't necessarily be able
to just shoot an unarmored car with a hand gun and destroy it.
Not to mention you might want the car after you cleave the door off
and pull the driver out. (then all you need to replace is the door.)

This system also helps those that use called shots.

Hope this helps.
Thanks
Gary C.
