| Could make a nice diversion from serious adventuring, though it doesn't
| sound too plausible to me... If it's installed in a car then it won't be
| a military-classified item, I think, or if it is, it'll be used under a
| different name in civilian applications, maybe with slight modification
| that make the two incompatible.

This could all be caused by computer error. A corporation merges it's auto
design department with it's military design department (to save money by
combining resources (mostly computer and testing stuff (wind tunnels,
etc.)). An auto designer makes a car. He also has access to the
department's database to draw on and is unknowingly given clearence to
military parts (but doesn't know himself, cuz parts is parts). So he
incorporates a wiz military part in the car.

The car hits the market and eventually the part fails. The owner takes it
in and the mechanic uses the corp issued diagnostic machine on the car.
The machine says the Boloxnit (feel free to change this) is broken and
needs to be replaced. Because the Boloxnit is classified the machine
won't tell the mechanic what it is. Ditto for the corporation giving up
information. So, the owner hires the runners to get this part (he *loves*
his car, maybe he's rich and it's a limited edition sports car).

Then the runners get to have fun when they try to hunt down a classified
item. The corp will react accordingly, not knowing that they're just
trying to get a car fixed (even when told this, the corp won't believe the
runners). Build it right up untill the end when the runners finally get to
the auto designer and he tells them what they're looking for. And have
some corp suits present when they find out that military technology has
been sold to civilians. After the whole adventure run a scream sheet with
a story saying that said corp has recalled all of the cars because of a
fatal defect.
