What I've always found is that a beard is an good way to change the shape of
your face (or people's perception of it.) or to emphasize or hide certain
details. Basically, with a little work, a man can use a beard the way women
can use makeup. When I decided to grow a beard, I went out and found _The
Compleat (sic) Beard Book_, and read it through before deciding what kind of
beard to grow. ( A Commandant beard, for example, is a great cover for a
weak chin...)
