Sorry for this, but I honestly don't know where else to go.

How do I print a postscript file from a PC running Windows 95? The
printer is an HP Laserjet.

Please send replies to me and not the list.

There are a couple of ways to do it. I personally use Ghostscript and it's
Windows GUI GSView. The URL for their webpage is
http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/. I have also written up a set of
instructions and a prepared a self-extracting archive which puts all the
files in the right places for installation for our students. These are
available at http://www.fsu.edu/~lis/distance/help/PSviewer/index.html

Five list members immediately jumped to my aid and solved my problem.

FWIW, if you ever want to print a postscript file from a PC, use DOS to
copy the file to the printer (copy <file> lpt1).

There's also a handy postscript viewer called Ghostview (and it's component
program Ghostscript) that you can download from the web.

Thanks again to all who helped :)

have you tried going to the dos promt and typing <<c:\copy "file.ps" to
LPT"x">> (where x = the LPT your printer is connected to).

you could also try -
downloading a version of Acrobat Distiller and Acrobat reader (from the Adobe
site), use Distiller to make the *.ps file into an acrobat file then printing
from Acrobat. while this is longer, the upside is that you'll have an acrobat
file.

peace,
andy
