Yo Chummers! Heres a question for ya.

There is a rule that sez that the lowest possible TN is 2.
Does that go for weapon against armour too ?
I mean take your everyday shotgun against Armour Jacket test.
Lets say u have the Mossberg (9D/12D-burst) on the one side
and the Armour Jacket (5/3).

The guy with the Mossberg sets the choke to 2, and say that
the target(s) (heheheh) stand about 10m away. That would give him
a -5 to his TN and a -5 to the guns Power Rating.
As it is a shotgun, the fletchet rulles take effect, that means
that the defender(s) will use their Impact Rating*2 (Armour Jacket
3*2=6) So we got 9-6-5=(-2) would the armour Jacket completely
stopp the bullets in this case or does the defender still have to
roll body-CPool against a TN of 2???????

[stuff about negative TN's etc deleted]

First off the rules say no TN can be smaller than 2. This does create a small
problem with armour as your mage with a body of 2 in full body armour still
only has 2 dice to resist that light pistol shot which would have had a TN of
about -4.

So one possible fudge is to give the defending character extra dice for each
negative point to the TN. This way the TN stays at 2 but the defending char
has a more realistic chance of suriving small callibre bullets.

Ie. Mage body 2, body armour ballistic 8, being shot with 4L.

Say attacker gets 3 succeses raising to 4M. Mage rolls 2 (body) + (8-4)
(ballistic armour - power) = 6 against 2M.

This fudge appears to work and doesn't appear to overbalance the game, maybe
this is the answer you need.

Phill.

As far as I've always understood, the lowest possible T# is 2 (remember,
miracles can happen, so our friend may actually get hit...!)...what fun is
there in instant success?
