Ok, bear with me...

What if, every time magicians take a quest to a Metaplane, they are actually
being summoned by a magician on that metaplane? Each of his "quests" are,
from the POV of this theoretical summoner, actually the tasks he was summoned
to preform?

Now, to take this farther, each elemental and spirit is actually a questing
magician, and each of its required services is one of its quests. That would
mean, if the elemental is not disrupted (thus failing its astral quest), that
specific elemental gains some bit of knowledge or perhaps gained enough to
become the next higher force... initiating.

Of course, there is no wafor this to be proven either way, but I think its an
interesting theory.

Nexx, my boy, you are a particularly twisted individual.

This concept of yours is reminiscent of the philosophical idea that we are
but figments of someone else's dream.

Interesting concept, utterly impossible to prove, and in the end, is little
more than mental masturbation (because it's fun but it gets you nowhere).

But you are one sick puppy...

Yeah, you're gonna need a closet when I get a hold of you...

-THAT- idea is one of the oldest jokes I EVER pulled on a group of AD$Ders
from way back when. BOY was that funny as hell...

What's the joke? I'm sorry, I'm a bit slow this evening (one guy didn't show
up and we had one of the busiest nights I have ever seen... I just want my rum
and coke and some nice, easy, mail right now).

Hey Eirk, how about if a mage did this to curry favor with a spirit or a totem
in the metaplanes ... garnering information they do not have access to ...

Would this be a potential run ?

Imagine dragging in the entire group to perform a run, and then they find out
that they were all along on the mage's quest ... if they accepted then they go
on the run ... otherwise if they refuse the run occurs and they have some bad
nightmares or something for the remainder of the run ...

And as Keith says about quests ... "They can be as real as real can be without
being so."

-Mike
