VCR 2 and VCR 3? I mean, hell...Wired 3 is hardly as much as VCR 3.

I assume that it is the law of diminishing returns, to get the absolute best
requires you to make an extra sacrifice. Wired reflexes have the same jump.
Unless you want Move by Wire and the Temporal Lobe Epilepsy that comes with
it.......

OK, wrong words. I meant...could somebody explain the huge essence
cost of VCR 3? 5 essence? Why such a big penalty?

To me, it'ssomething SR always does. The top end always costs much more, in
terms of essence/bio index/money. Look at the jump on the cerebral enhancer
for money, or the synaptic accelerator. Probably some game balance thing,
IMO.

Becuase, IMO, they replace almost your entire body with wires and gizmos,
;), that make you more part of the machine then level 1 or 2. They make you
able to communicate more efficently with the vehicle/system, so you are more
"machinelike." Hence, you lose your spirir, your aura, your
"essence." In
this guys opinion, anyway.

It's probably quite realistic, too. If you buy a mid range PC processor, it
might cost you 500 quarks. If you buy one half as quick, ie a low range one,
it'll probably only cost you 100 quarks. If you buy one 50% faster, ie near
the top of the range, it'll probably cost you 1000 quarks. A top of the
range model, twice as fast as the mid range one, will set you back something
like 2000 quarks! It's not linear.

The thing that I don't like about this, is that a VCR really is more neural
than total body. It also bugs me because it seems silly to place all these
electronics in teh body as opposed to the (still needed) Black Box installed
in the vehicle/ remote gear.
And last, but not least, the low cost of the VCR should also mean that lower
essence higher cost VCRs should be out there besides alpha and better.

Even if it is Neural, at level 3, they have to be replacing a hell of alot
of neurons and such, which is a.) expensive, and b.) essence expensive. I
mean, when rigging either a vehicle/drone or a building, the rigger "feels"
the building as if it were his body. That can't be doing good things for
your aura/essence/soul.
