a shadowrun equipment list I got of of a FTP server somewhere.

IIRC wetware refers to headware cyber.

Usually I've seen it referring to your actual brain tissue, and probably
by extension neural bioware. (An encephalon is headware, but a cerebral
booster is wetware.)

Actually now that you mention it Max I think you are right they were
actually referring to a persons brain as his wetware. Obviously mine needs
to be upgraded. ;-)
Wonder if there is a flash upgrade for my years model?

Slang for Bio-Ware.... (you know, on account of it's
generally-more-moist-than-cyber-ware state)... although it's has been
used in sci-fi fiction to refer to cyber-ware type implants too.

AFAIK your wetware is your brain.

From my PoV Wetware is your _Meatbody_ it's used in a lot of dark
fiction/Cyberpunk Novels like from Gibson, Shirley etc.
So for all your Cybermaniacs think about Wetware as the Soft targets who
crunch under your steely grip.
ImhO Wetware includes the Brain and Bioware.

It probably means "bioware," and the author got the terms wrong. (Oh, how
nice it would be if everyone stuck to the standard (FASA) names for
things...)

BTW, what is this file, and where did you download it?

Hey Gurth,
Actually Wetware was a term used in two books by an Author whose name
escapes me at the moment....darn.
Anyway, wetware is the "meat body", un-augmented. You see, this hapless
fellow created self aware robots that were "hardware".
Then the plot unfolds from thereThe first book was titled "wetware", but I
still can't rmember the authors name :(
(if you want a similir example in SR, check out the Nanite Bio-Arcolgy
creature on the
SR Archives(http://www.interware.it/shadowrun/) by my good friend Hard
Master... it's very interesting)

I have a book on my shelf titled Wet Ware, and was written by Rudy
Rucker and is part of a set that includes Soft Ware. Though how relevant
these books are to the Shadowrun definition of Wetware is debateable.

Hope that helps :)
