Ok, I have just finished reading the last book of the Dragon Heart
saga and I am still trying to recover from it. So, what is next now
that the comming of the horrors have been posponed for a few thousand
years? Is FASA going back to the typical magic-cyberworld thing? No
more good hearted dragons and epic scale confrontations? No more
Harlequin saving the world novels? That would be very boring, to say
the least. I just love to get info about the great dragons and
Dunkelzhan was the only one that FASA has ever give a kind of 'in
deep' look into. I hope that at least we can get some some material
about the coolest dragon of all, Lowfyr. Anyway, I am just worried
that without the horrors, Shadowrun might have lost some of its
flavor. I hope I am dead wrong.

Well, I think you are dead wrong. First of all, it is implied that some
Horrors were able to sneak through. Which means that if you, Mr. GM, want
to use a Horror or two in your game, go for it.

Second and most important I think, Shadowrun is returning to its roots, to
something closer to what the game start out as before Immortal Elves and
Horrors and such. Just look at the books planned for this year: the "Blood
In The Boardroom" story line, with at least one dedicated sourcebook (which
I suspect will be a lot more than simply an update of the Corporate
Shadowfiles) and one adventure book. The new Seattle sourcebook will
almost certainly be affected by this plotline, and it also possible that
the Renraku arcology adventure book may be tied into this plotline
(although it may have to do with Dodger's Matrix friend from I think the
Secrets of Power trilogy). And I suspect SR3 will also be affected by his
plotline.

Let's remember that this plotline was all a part of the whole election
plotline, which pushed Dunky into the White House for about eight hours...I
suspect that there will be another plotline that will arise for 1999/2000
that will result from the implications and complications of the Blood In
The Boardroom thread.

Speaking of which, does anyone have any exact release dates for that? I
know the Underworld expansion for the card game and Blood In the Boardroom
is due out this month, but when? Knowing FASA, it won't be until the final
week or March...<grumble grumble grumble>.

And oh yeah. I don't think Lofwyr is the coolest dragon of them all. That
honor I think goes to Rhonabwy, the *only* really cool thing to come out of
Prime Runners...except maybe Teachdairre...

Well, we'll probably get to hear more about Lofwyr with the "Blood in the
Boardroom" stuff, but I'm not too worried about the loss of the Horrors.
What I've heard about the series though (haven't read it myself) suggests
that there may have been Horrors who snuck across before the bridge was
closed... And its not like you have to follow every thing that FASA puts
out:) Finally... 'typical magic-cyberworld' :) Last I checked, SR is
about the only major fictional universe that mixes (or is supposed to mix
-- it's debated, after all:) cyberpunk and fantasy elements.

I agree with Erik; if you want Horrors in your campaign, put them into it
(just not too many else nobody will survive). For example, our group's now
playing HB and I'm thinking of doing some kind of Mob War/Horror/Spawn
campaign after it. I'm thinking of something like the Violator (which will
be a Horror or Horror-construct) being the cause of Don O'Malley's death,
but I still have to work out the details. It's mostly inspired by me
recently borrowing some early Spawn comics (and reading them :) and our
campaign's timeline happening to be around January 2058 right now.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, so what if FASA doesn't focus on the
Horrors anymore? If you want them, use them! :)

Please remember that "Mixability" and "Miscibility" are not quite the
same
thing here.
