Folks, I don't know about the rest of you, but I am getting this back from
the RN list a LOT lately. Could anyone please explain?

I've only gotten it once, but it looks like it's a non-standard bounce
message that the list server software isn;t capable of handling on it's
own. We're just lucky it's not bouncing directly to the list. Some of the
old timers can tell you about THAT particular bag o' fun :] Can you say
"Exponential Mail"? i knew you could :]

According to Bull, at 4:53 on 15 Nov 99, the word on the street was...

It looks like what was going on, is that the mail server of the missing
address picked the original sender's address out of the message header,
rather than the listserver's, and sent the error message there. Thus, for
every message you posted to the lst, you got an error from gmx.net (or
whatever it was) back as a private message.

Well, since the server is sending the messages directly to the posters,
there is nothing the listserver can do. The listserver can only filter
out the message if it goes throught the listserver.
