Subject: Whats the deal with these shapeshifters in the SR rulebook?

Ok i was just trying to create a shapeshifter npc, and the boo says
that these things have enhanced physical attributes in animal form. Usually
this means that they add their essence (8) to their attributes. Now lets
take a tiger, it has a body and stength of an 8, i forget the quickness at
this time, but hey no big deal. The bear shapeshifter has a body and strength
of A+2, in this case, a 10 and a 10, now do you add the essence now? or is
the A+2 the bonus, I think that a natural strength of a 20 in a tiger is a
little bit much.

Thanks

This really isn't quite easy.
Let's look at the vampire( OH NOOOO ;). His Essence is added to his
strenght, like the stats and notes states. Under powers it says,he also
has enhanced physical attributes in animal form. I now assume that this
refferes to the strength boost only ! The same I think is true for the
shapeshifter, the A+2 bonus is 'all' he gets from his enhanced physical
attributes, even so the rules aren't clear on this one. Has anyone
paranormal annimals and can check for this ??????

First you add the +2 to the animal's normal stats, and then you add the
Essence of the shapeshifter. So a typical tiger shapesifter would look
like this, stat-wise:

B Q S C I W
18 15x5 18 5 3 3

Pretty tough, eh? :)

I'm thinking, no.
The A+2 and A+1 indications ARE the enhanced physical attributes. Think about
it. A juggernaut has a body almost equivolent to those stats, and look at the
size of that. A human's body weight is approx. 50kg per point of body. That
would be a damn fat tiger, Gurth.

In SR pedestrians got 3 in body, so acording to you they weights approx.
150kg !! I think NOT! 25-30kg is a better approx.
