In the grand tradition of the "Droat", it high time we find out what
some of these things are in the newer SR books.

- The thing on the cover of the SRComp: Is that:
a) A Dwarf
b) A Troll
c) Other

- In the colored-laminated pages of Rigger 2, and you see a picture of
the smoke generator: Is the thing running in front of it:
a) A troll with four arms
b) A dwarf carrying another dwarf piggy-back
c) The artist was freebasing crack- and probably still is.

And folks, happy Easter/Passover/whatever holliday you think it is!

Yet again, what is the confusion.

What it looks like to me is some sort of twisted cyberlegs/vehicle
thingy. I won't try explain why or how it works because, well I can't. I
will say Baxa painted it and that's all.

I like the "other" option personally, but I woud be willing to bet it's an
Ork...for some reason I remember a "Horn" on the head. But Mike's copy is
missing ATM...

How about a person with a modified anthroform. Think of it as a variation on
the "wheel chair" idea. Better quickness if you wanted it.

Please note however, that those "smoke clouds" would make for some killer bud
(as a friend would say)...

Hell no... he was mainlining smack. I'm sure. :)

Come to think of it... Most RPGs have mediocre-to-fair art. Some stand
out (White Wolf on a good day, Fading Suns, Shadowrun) by
better-than-average art on most sourcebooks. But, as Vag kindly
demonstrated, some art is just... u-u-u-u-ugly. Not that I could do
better, mind you, just that FASA could do better.

*sigh* Hell, it all boils down to this... WHERE'S BRADSTREET? :)

What I want to know is: Why do NO trolls in SR have symettrical
horns. Just about every dual-horned critter in nature manages to
have basically symettrical horns, but not SR trolls. I had this
theory that it was an effect of goblinizing once you were an adult,
but I'm sick of these twisted horn uglies.

Its not a troll- no tusks or horns. I think it was once a human with
cyberlegs- now, it has lower limbs that lack hands, it seems to have
spines, its running from "smoke" that seems to bother some "ghouls"-
Budy, that's a BUG, and that ain't no smoke!

I'm no conisuire, but I don't think you can freebase crack - "freebase"
implies "base", IE, cocaine which has not been made into rocks.

Rocks are reserved for the writters, not the artists. Certain writters
get "The big rocks", like some of those involved in the "Missions"
book.

The artists only get Crystal Meth, whicdistortstourpercetionmoreanyhow,

Speaking of bad art who here thinks the front of Rigger 2 should have been
replaced with the last color glossy page. I think they must have picked
the one that run purelly on the scantally clad woman factor.

You're probably right, though one should never underestimate the scantily-clad
woman factor....

On -THAT- topic, just don't ask Jon Szeto to explain the cover. He'd probably
kill the person. I know he's considered, or at least been heavily prodded to
take out his revenge, upon the artist.

So Jon, just how -IS- Josie Cruise these days???

Not only does sex sell, but I think they wanted to capture the
essence of what a Rigger is- which is drones and vehicles, and it gives
that whole power thing.
I agree it isn't a good cover piece, but neither is the one you
suggest... come to think of it, I don't think any of them are. Maybe
they should have done some sort of collage thing, I dunno- that's why
I'm not the art editor. :)

I kind of like the picture of the female pilot (with the dragon out the
window). I can't remember what it was called, but I always thought that
would have made a good cover.
