Subject: where do the bullets go?

Ok, hopefully a simple question;)

In our game, I play a cow-shaman. He's something in the line of the
self-appointed protector of the group, and the only thing he does in
the game is casting treat on (fellow) (groupmembers) humans (uh,
humanoids)/dragons which caught a bullet or ten too much:)

The thing I was wondering about is, where do the bullets go to when
treat/heal is cast on a (almost dead) body? Do they just go up in a
phuff of smoke, or do the stay there in the body?

Anyway, if you think it's the last one, I know some people who should
drop dead from acute lead-poisoning, right now ;P

I know that the answer to this question won't solve any of the bigger
"questions of life", but I was just curious...

<SNIP when casting treat where do the bullets go>
My general rule has been as you heal them, the forgein body
that caused the damage (i.e. the bullet) is expelled from
the body. So in doesn't really go up in smoke, or stay in the body,
it winds up on the floor next to the bleeding body.

I've always run it that they're ejected from the body in the healing
process, in an accelerated version of the way bone fragments can be
from a shattered bone. The bullet pops out during the healing and
the magician can hand it to the victim to keep as a souvenir.

I would rule that the bullets that are still in the body are
transmuted into body tissue to help seal up the wound..

Sounds very painfull:) Maybe some of our group should roleplay some
screaming, for a change, when Ron's casting treat on them <EG, if
that's still allowed, and nobody has a copyright on it; P>

We've always played it like this, though it is negligent unless you're
trying to be extremely stealthly and leave no evidence... The bullets
find their way out- the same way they found their way in.

Questions like this are what make the game interesting. <smirk>

Ok heres a thought....what if as the heal spell works it uses the material
in the bullet to help form the repaird tissue...like it transmute the bullet
intop the new tissue.

and heres anothe r thought...what if its a through and throygh wound:)

Cow Shaman? I'm sure there's a joke there, somewhere ... If you find it,
be sure and milk it for all it's worth, ok?

<SNIP>

Option 1:
The bullet is expelled from the body.
Option 2:
The bullet is transmuted into new flesh/blood (that blood you lost has
to come from somewhere ...). This could lead to some serious weight gain
problems.
Option 3:
The bullet is transported to the digestive system to aid in general
recuperation but is instead passes through. Could cause some SERIOUS
embarassment/humor. ("Lenny's taken a dump in full-auto mode again ...")
Option 4:
The bullet stays put and you are going to have to vist the street doc
to get it removed (This option is VERY nasty for mages.).

NOTE: I didn't think of Option 2 myself but included it to provide a nice
synopsis and to comment on it. :)

...the last of the Harlequin adventures. The PCs were in Ehran's resort in
Mt. St. Helens and had discovered the restrained dragon. Sometime later
they run into the Tir Tairngire elves, and a firefight erupts. The PCs win
relatively easily, leaving the opposition either dead or wounded; the
enemy mage had taken 9 boxes of damage and was wisely withdrawing by
crawling back to the front door. Ron wanted to heal her, but another PC
charged his weapon and told him, in a threatening voice, "If you heal her,
you will die!" Naturally, all of us assumed he meant, "If you heal her,
I'll shoot you!" but what he really meant was "If you heal her, she will
kill you!" So, Ron manabolted that PC, healed the mage (and tied her up),
then healed the other PC.

Later on the dragon naturally attacks them, causing a lot of running
around between safe areas (it was between the PCs and their only escape
route). A PC finally fires ten rounds from an AK-97 into it, causing it a
Deadly wound and Ron goes down to cast his Treat spell on it...

Best of it all, another player had remarked to him when he wanted to heal
the mage "If that dragon attacked us, would you heal it too?"
(Unfortunately, neither Jester nor I (the GM) had heard the comment at the
time.)

Hey, what's this about cow-shamans?:) They're really cool to play.
But when you shoot someone, make sure you do it right, or else the
cow-shaman will Treat him, and the fun starts again:)

NPC, hey that's an idea. Gurth, can I play a dragon as a next
character? ;P
Anyway, that dragon owes me a favor, a BIG one:)

hmm, the strangest source of iron yet?

Maybe they are shunted into the astral, there to wait until a higher level of
magic when the door to the "place of bullets" opens up. Thent eh bullets will
all return to the eart-Gaia-sphere, just in time to totally devistate the
invading Horrors?

yeah, I like that idea
