Ok, that's it...

<sigh> Either we're getting an influx of new and REALLY whiny players, a
couple of you SR2 haters have gotten multiple e-mail accounts and are just
trying to be annoying, or the intelligence level of the general populace
has gone down.

As much as I hate to do this, so far in the last few weeks I've seen at
LEAST 4 people complain about there being a 3rd Edition, and whine about
how they don't want to have to buy a new edition, and then ask what's new
about it. Usually in a snotty and challenging "What's so new that I REALLY
need to buy this? I like my old edition" tone of voice.

GO READ THE LOGS.

http://www.jackpoint.org

I'm sick of rehashing the same fragging question, and sick of seeing the
same damned arguments. Same goes the fucking "SR has now flavor anymore"
comments.

Get a life and go play another game if you don't like this one that much.

I'm not. It sounds as if someone has forgotten what this list is about. It's about
discussing the game of Shadowrun. Whether or not one likes the new system, and what a
person wants out of Shadowrun products are both valid topics for this list. It sounds
like Bull has gotten a little too close to the folks who work at FASA, and is beginning to
take criticism of the game personally. I don't think anyone who isn't a fan of the game
would be on the list, and considering the posts on other topics from the people involved
in the aforementioned threads, they aren't general troublemakers. They just want some
discussion about areas they're concerned with. Sounds valid to me. <shrug>

Actually sounds like you bit on the troll. He even admitted that he
"Won" because Bull reacted. The personal attacks were WAY off the
scale, and I hope will result in at least a temp ban from the list.

Yeah. I have a couple of (private) IRC-logs here that show that he usually
has much more....eloquent insults. ;)

Now that I think of it, it was on the same topic...and I agreed ;))

Sorry Robert, but I believe Bull wasnt reacting because the person in
question had valid digs at FASA and Bull is a 'FASA Ork' but it was
the simple fact that it was obviously just someone on his line trying
to throw as many personal insults as possible to anyone willing to try
and help him... To be honest, Bull went easy on him.

Concern is fine, but as I said, personal insults show lack of maturity
and the young school boy retaliation usually ending in a 'Fuck You'.
We are as a group way over this type of attitude, and people
attempting to
a. Talk without basis and be adiment (sp) to a point of ignorance.
b. Make personal insults.
c. Bring down our 'standard' of discussion
should not be tolerated.

I'm afraid that I've got to speak up here.
It's all about respect.

Bull has earnt it. The newbie hasn't.
You don't sign onto a list and not lurk
before locking heads with a AAA RN'er.
As far as I'm concerned the Omega
Order is warranted.

Now if the newbie wants to chill and
come back with a better attitude then
I'll give him and anyone else who cares
to join this community a chance. If not
then that'll be me in the corner playing
the world's smallest violin.

Bullshit.

I know DVixen, this thread is supposed to be dead. But hell, what the fuck
was that post? Bull has "earned" it? What, we got licenses to flame now?
Where do I sign up?

Come on. I know you people joke around with the "Old-timers retirement
club" or something, can't remember what. It's cool, I know lotsa people
like the feeling of being an "old-timer", part of the "gang", up and
above
the newbies and the outcasts, and the people who can't go to Gencon 'cause
they've got summer jobs to pay for college. But this shit is being taken
too far now.

Manx, as far as I know, nobody here earns the right to blast another. Only
by being provoked will you get replies like this. And fuck, that post was
the stupidest thing I've seen here in a long, long time. It's bullshit like
that that makes people quit this list, that stiffles the input of "newbies".
What? We're whipping boys? "No mista? Please don't hurt me, I'll go to the
cotton fields mista...". Pure and utter BS. AAA RN'ers... goddamn, can you
get even more elitist?

Allright, Gridsec, ban my ass, I've said what I had to say.

I have to agree with Frank. I don't want banned or anything, but I do admit,
I have to agree with him.

I think the cost is the same as the "pay GridSec for the rights to

Umm, on a side note here, I'd like to point out that I never claimed to
have the right to say this stuff the way I did. It was out of line the way
it was presented. Go see my apology post for more info.
