But who the hell are these players? Now, I am frequently mistaken for some
kind of hardcore goth type, as I generally wear black suits and have long
hair that's shaved on the sides. Now, leaving out for the moment that I feel
I'm a little old to be mistaken for a teenaged goth...thing, there are good
reasons for this;

a) I wear suits because I HAVE A JOB. This job requires that I dress well.
b) I wear black because it's about the only color I look good in. Besides,
it slims my figure.
c) Leave me alone about the hair already. It'd take too long for the sides
to grow back, and I look stupid with short hair. Besides, having the sides
shaved to the skin makes my head look narrower. You know, it slims my
figure.

I am sick and tired of the wannabe poseurs, vamping around town with their
cheap, fake egyptian jewelry, talking about how great death is and how much
they'd like to bite each other. And I'm sick of LARPing Vampire players
talking about how cool and evil they all are. But more than anything, I'm
tired of being mistaken for one of them.

So if you happen to see a guy, wearing a black suit, with brown hair shaved
on the sides [and looking remarkably slim :) ], please, please don't ask me
if I want to play Vampire. And don't, ever, ask me if I want to go LARPing
off into the night with you and your wierd teenage friends.

[Apologies for the mature, non-toady people who play White Wolf games, but I
think you understand that not all of the people who play the game you do are
all there.]

- From what I understand, some time before they took their server
offline, they had posted a different message than the one currently
posted there, one listing the buyer's website as
www.anonymous-liberty.com.
However, a check of the registration information for that domain name
in the whois database showed it to be a domain name owned by White
Wolf (and that the last time either record was updated was back in
August). Publicity stunt, anyone?

This is more current - heard it at DSEi '99 from a guy who reworked a MP-
5/10 to fire .224BOZ. He switched to using M-16s for a variety of reasons,
one (not the only) reason being unavailability.

FWIW the H&K stand didn't have a MP-5/10 of any sort on display. Four
different 9mm MP-5s (-A5, -SD, -K, -PDW) but all in 9mm.


Lest anyone get upset, the MP-5 is a fine weapon... for a policeman. It's
too precisely worked to be a field combat weapon, though: very

Well, some days I do. But lately, I've been dieting. :)

Seriously, what is this with people wanting to be evil and depressed? Like
this is cool. For those of us who have fought with depression our entire
lives, and only won occassionally, or for moments here and there, it's not
just stupid, it's completely insulting. I am *so sick* of people wanting to
be what I hate myself for being.

The worst part is, I was just like them when I was their age.

This may not be entirely what you're looking for, but be aware
that for a lot of operations (especially search operations like Locate
Slave or Locate File), once the information or slave node is located, you
won't have to look for it again (unless the host is totally reconfigured).

to look into the Validate program and its associated operations. It's not
too terribly difficult to forge yourself a user account, or even a

I'm pretty light hearted for the most part and have been that way most of my
days. I just get a little put out with the group we've been describing
trying to act tough when they are clueless about it. I mean most of the
people who are hooked on depression (by choice) really have no reason IRL to
be that way. Though it does make for a great villain in SR3 (hmmmm, idea
forming). To me tough is not "fear my dark gaze of evil", but rather a
person who can blow out one of your knees in the blink of an eye and move on
without losing stride ("hey dude that's your kneecap over there").

I know what you mean...we just did a run from "First Run" where I (the
otaku) had to fix a loop over the cameras; there were 12 odd of them...we
ended up just doing one roll per room.

I suggest that's the eaasiest way to do it...mind you, being an Otaku means
that dice rolling is lower than being a normal decker anyway. Otaku rock,
assuming the player isn't a munchkin...the original reason that I wanted to
be one was for munchy purposes (I got sick of making decks, programs,
etc...and keeping track of them). But when I actually made the char, I got
way into it...I love the char, especially because he's about to be initiated
into the Halloweeners (the other team-members are a bit worried about what
this might mean, but the Deep Resonance gave me a mission...I'm gonna
complete it or heads are gonna ro

Okay, here's a question.

My adept is creating a thesis in order to initiate to level 2. Shamans make
artworks, whilst hermetics write essays, etc. I guess that, depending on
the individual, Adepts could do either. My GM is cracking drek because they
could only do essays, but I don't like that...Monks wouldn't write a goddam
essay! My adept is kind of a Zen-style adept. But
