Actually, the original tunnels around the bases of the buildings were caused
by the great Seattle FIre, which nearly destroyed all of downtown Seattle.
When they rebuilt, they decided to fix the flooding problem they had by
moving evrything up to the second story in what is now called Pioneer
Square. Other than that, the post has it down fairly well. The Orc
Underground would have little to do with the old Unerground Seattle, other
than those tunnels would be likely entrances to the underground.
