No, have not been here. but have longed for the day to be. I have been

Welcome, and all that. However, please place your replies after the post
you're quoting (like I've just done). Placing replies before the original
post makes for hard reading (scrolling forward to find out what you're
responding to, then scrolling back to see what your response is), kind of
like carrying on a conversation backwards.

*M-FS is a disease that hits most RN TOLMWAPPERs after having been on
the list for longer than 2 years. Symptoms include infrequent posting,
overuse of obscure list inside jokes, an unexplainable compulsion towards
lurking, repeating yourself, and repeating yourself. Named after Paolo
and J.D., the first well-documented cases of M-FS. Gurth seems to be
immune, but he will not let the researchers take any samples of vital
tissue to find out why. Perhaps Bull will be able to provide a cure, once
he reaches the syndrome's 2-year "Danger Zone"

One of the old gaming store is selling off all its old stock - I picked
a PAoE for $10! Brand new, perfect condition! :)

I think they still have some left so if anyone wants one email me and
I'll pick them up, provided you're prepared to pay for the book and
postage of it to wherever you are...

Hi guys! I'm back!

For those who didn't know, over Easter my boyfriend and I got ripped off
and they stole our computers and modem. I've now managed to borrow
hardware off my friends, so I'm back on line! FINALLY! :)

Being internet-less for three weeks really sucks!

Oooh - three weeks of heavy list traffic and no way to set nomail
(well, unless you sweet-talked Adam). That's gonna be a *lot* of
mail...

>Being internet-less for three weeks really sucks!

I don't know how you survived. I have a tough time with a full *day*
away from my box. A weekend can be painful. At least I'd still have
my Pilot. :-)

Nup. I'd set NOMAIL cause I was going away for the Easter weekend - I
was only expecting to be offline for four days, not three weeks!

It was... trying. Very trying. (The only thing that kept me sane was
re-reading all my books. Twice.)

That was a stroke of luck - so you don't have ~4500 messages waiting.
I'll bet your sysadmin is pleased. :-)

Easter really wasn't a very good time for computers - I fried my
motherboard Good Friday morning and had to suffer through to Saturday
until I could even buy a replacement, take a couple of hours to
install it and get it up, take a few more to try and keep W95 from
adding duplicate device drivers all the time, say screw it and boot
into Linux. I need a new machine. Really! ;-)

That'd take me a bit more than 3 weeks... Oh yeah, they took the TV,
too, didn't they? Well, it'd still take me more than 3 weeks.

Yup. :) Though they suspended my account anyway when we found out (at my
request) - and then took ages to renew my account. I'd have been back 36
hours ago otherwise. :)

I have LOTS of books, but no computer, no internet, no TV, no job... I
read fast anyway, and that was sort of an incentive. :)

Oh, the insurance company's being stinky. They've hired a PI - standard
practice with a claim this big (250 CDs [which are EXPENSIVE in
Australia], 2 TVs, 2 VCRs, big snazzy hi-fi, 2 computers, etc etc) so
that's going to add another week on. Ugh.

I have to say, I don't know WHY anyone would commit insurance fraud. The
bastards make it hard enough for you when you're ~honest~.

Oh, I read fast as well, except that between roleplaying (big time
suck), my computer/internet (huge time suck), and my job (massive
time suck), I don't have much time left for reading novels... :-(

I used to go through about 3 a day when I was in high school... Until
the school library ran out of Fantasy/Sci-Fi and then I read
through every issue of Scientific American published since 1964. Man,
I hated high school. :-/

Welcome back! I hope the boys in blue are a bit more enthusiastic where
you are than they are here (did they take prints?) and that you have
insurance on your gear other than "home owners" (most h.o. policies only
cover $2500 in computers & periphrials)
