Either the population will triple, or people will get nasty.
The way I see it (not nessarily how the big-wigs see it) is people want
places to get away from other people. That's why ten people don't (usually)
share a one bedroom apartment. If people are crammed even tighter into
what limited space we have, I kinda see people getting violent.
Either that or they totally retreat into somewhere with space and area.
Like the Matrix. It's not real space, but Virtual space is as good as any.
I could be wrong...

"It's not like talking with people. With people, anything can be said and
nothing matters. Words and words and words. You go to a party... people
sit around and say things. Anything. Just to talk. Put forth views and
debate them. Sometimes you get a new idea. Sometimes something changes"
