I'm taking 13 (hard) hours and finishing 10 hours of incompletes
from the spring... I'm really busy.
That being said, I'd like to do it... It would be a fun project,
and I could post it off of my UT account (like a subdirectory of my
personal homepage)... I'd probably adapt some version of the Cyberpunk
2.0.2.0. drug rules, as they're pretty good and relatively simple at the
same time. Hey, I could even scan in pictures down at the smurf (SMF or
student microcomputer facility aka Slutty Smurf because the network will
go down on you for no reason at all).
Actually, what would be really neato: if I can learn enough
perl/CGI scripting to pull it off, make it a "living" text like the SR
books, with the readers posting in comments on the text.
Wow, I just had an idea: What if FASA did this on their web page
with new sourcebooks, either before release and then they could pick and
choose comments to be put in or after and charge like $5-8 bucks for a
download version (.pdf) that you could either view via adobe acrobat or
print out (color and B&W versions at varying levels of Graphic intensity
for those with crappy printers or who want to save ink). That way FASA
could skip printing and distribution costs altogether, and the minimal fee
would be straight profit (well, fee receipts - production costs = profits
anyway). And it might increase sales, as people in towns with no game
stores or good bookstores could still get it. And as for the rest of us
who're willing to accept the different medium, no more paying US$18 for a
120 page sourcebook...

If you're serious about this, you should check out the drug list my running
group came up with about seven years ago. It's in a bunch of places on the
net, including the Collected NAGEE
(http://pobox.com/~wordman/personal/nagee.html). The list has drugs from
real life, CP2020, Effenger novels and other fictional sources, and some we
just made up. There's also a list of plants with pharmaceutical uses.
