It is my great misfortune to soon be leaving the university life as I'll
finally be graduating. This brings up a couple of questions which I would
like to ask the list:

1) I will be losing net access as of the end of June, this will include
teh demise of my SR WWW site :( I was wondering whether anyone would be
willing to archive any and all of the stuff currently on there. If anyone
is interested please email me privately.

2) Has anyone got any advice for someone hoping to work full time in the
RPG industry, either with a single company or working freelance (hey
FASAMike - got any openings? :) any help would be appreciated - if its of
any relevance my Degree is in Business Administration witha focus on
marketing.

Thanks for your time!

I'm new to this list, but I can answer one of your questions.

It is a royal bitch to get into the gaming industry. TSR just laid off a
bunch of people. I know one person who's in the industry, an he does the
computer work for Games Workshop. He got in because he knew the right people.
Even if your skills are incredible, it seems that if you don't know
somebody already inside, it's not gonna happen.

But keep trying.

Depending on how much stuff you have on your site, I can store it for
you. I've got between 10 & 15mb available at Demons server, so if you
want to zip it all, I'll put it up on my site, so at least it'll still
be available for the people at large. I'll add your name and the addy
into my sig, to keep it current if you wish. It'd be a shame to lose
that martial arts stuff especially. :)

If you want to add anything to it, just post the additions to me and I
can add it in no trouble. :)

If nobody else has approached you, it's an option.

Good luck. That's about the only advice anyone can give in this day and
age.

I sent you a private email, but it may or may not have gone through. I'm
even now only using 1.3 of my 5 Mb. If you'd like some or all of your stuff
posted at Poisoned Elves, I can give you a wing off the Supplements site,
or better yet just archive your site as a whole in my directory on the
server and point the already existing link to there instead.

Let me know. I know my group and I have already used some of your optional
rules like Preparing or Holding Spells. Hate to lose some of the original
ideas.

You could get an account with some or another commercial ISP before your
time at uni runs out, and transfer your stuff there...

Those are always good things. The more the merrier, I say.

That ties in with the first three -- play them and you'll see they're
not... (Did anyone read the bit about In Nomine in the last Arcane, BTW?)

Just use a word processor with auto-replace and you'll never need to worry
about it again :) (I tend to write "aicraft" and "dependant" but I've
set
Word to correct me automatically).

Get a real job, then worry about RPG work. Otherwise, you'll starve.

I don't know, Gurth is doing pretty good on RPG work, and not much else

What is In Nomine, anyway? I was with my (somewhat lazy) group last night,
this guy that plays Vampire said In Nomine was bizzare, so I can only wonder
how weird it really is. I'm also wondering why there are about 50 books for
White Wolf schtuff on the shelves of the gaming store... :P
