Ok, after donig some compiling, I realized a LOT of the comments were (of
course) very specific to online Shadowrun, so... I made this list, and
added a few...

Anything I missed, you old timers?

You Might Be an Online Shadowrun Gamer If…

.. you understand what the term BABY really means.
.. you have searched Ebay for a BABY to call your own.
.. you have a BABY of your own.
.. you've named your BABY.
… your BABY has more signatures in it than your High School Yearbook.
.. you're like a parent with your BABY in that if anyone goes to touch it
without express, often written, permission from yourself you have
threatened them with significant acts of violence.
.. you know what the following terms or anacronyms all mean ... "DRF,
FASA, Plastic Warriors, BKK, HHH, TSS, BadKarma, SR, Bulldrek."
.. you know the web site address of all of the previous by heart.
.. you know the names of the coordinating staff of each of those web
sites.
.. you can name all the DLOH in order and give the dates when they
changed hands accordingly.
… the DLOH knows who you are.
… you know what ShadowRN, Plot-D, and ShadowTK is, and what NERPS and
SRCreate were.
… you are (or were) a member of any of those lists.
… you are (and were) a member of ALL of those lists.
… including ShadowGM.
… you remember when the ShadowRN lists were on jackpoint.org.
… you remember when the ShadowRN lists were on itribe.
… you remember when the ShadowRN lists were on Haern.
.. you understand what the terms "Old Timer, Carp, Gurth's Stairs,
Dumpshock, etc..." all refer to and where they are used most.
… you know what the Tickle-Me-Dunkie and Dinky Dunky is.
.. you've ever made a stuffed Great Dragon doll.
… you’ve spent time on #Shadowrun on Undernet IRC.
… you know who Fro is.
… you know who WildAngle is.
… you remember CaptChaos, Mostafavi, and Fastjack.
… you visited Shadowland.org when it was still in it’s first incarnation.
… you have a copy of TopCat’s Manifesto.
… you know what TopCat’s Manifesto is.
… You remember “name the quote, win a prize”
… you know what the term THWAP means.
… you've been THWAPed.
… you have the big THWAP Carp ASCII graphic on your hard drive.
… you know MC23 or Dvixen’s real name.
… you remember Invasion Force.
… you were a part of Invasion Force.
… you weren’t part of IF, you were defending TK from IF.

Ancient cultures believed that names held great power, personal names
more so and they were guarded very closely. To protect themselves, they
answered to another name, because if another discovered their real name,
it could be used against them.
History repeats itself.

You need to switch these around, it makes more sense that way.

Or Barbie's.

BTW, I must say that virtually this whole post describes me so well that
it's not funny anymore :)

actually still running? :)

Bull, are you TRYING to start a war?! :)

Hoo boy. Fond memories, those! I especially remember Celt, Caber, and
Stephanie (possibly my favourite character of the lot). I'm even still
playing the character I played in the IF - how many of the rest of you
IFies are doing that? :-)

(Incidentally, to those of you who remember him, Hamish told me to pass on
a big 'hello'. :-)

That reminds me, I need to start up my meetings of the Anti-Bob Liberation
Army again.

How about anyone who has refrained from using the word W**ch*ck in polite
company for fear of offending.

Or anyone who remembers when THATPaolo wasn't Canadian. ::

comment Dvixen had a habit of making...

I do that! Which, thanks to the way I tend to look around, has the MPs
freaking out whenever I visit my dad at work. I've sometimes been called by

Me and a few SR friends had a habit of walking around
our campus and pointing out good sniper places. We
stopped when we realized how vulnerable everyone,
including us, was.

Oh, and another for the list: You answer to your list

That's even worse! Then again, I had a teacher in highschool called

It's the same as the Tea thread (Bull, one to add to your list: "...you
know what question Blaze asked.") in that it started innocently but got
completely out of hand to be one of the biggest OT threads ever. That's
what all the fuss is about.

That, I don't understand either. It does bring up yet another entry for
Bull's list: "...you know what a droat is." (Or is that already in it?)

I guess so...

Ah, the memories.

When I lived in Sydney a few years ago, on my way to work, I used to walk
past the Alcatel factory (1 Moorebank ave Moorbank) staring wistfully at
the huge flag that they had flying from a huge flag pole, in the center of
this wide open space, behind a security fence with camera's and other toys
guarding the area.

My friends and I, with whoom I used to run, well we always wanted to sneak
in and steal that flag. Just to see if we could :o)

::laughs:: Well I guess I'm busted! I work at an ISP and every day I look
around and figure out what would be the best way to get a decker in here and
cover his ass before the alarm system went off!

I've actually walked into a building with lots of
cameras and thought "Oh, you could get past the
cameras with improved invisibility, that's easy!
Assuming there aren't any spirits guarding the
building, but I'd check it in astral before I come in.
Wait, what the heck did I just think?!?"

Anyone been to the University of Michigan Campus? I
went there for the first time for a gaming convention
and as we're walking (myself, Chris and his buddies) I
noticed the beautiful old buildings and said how nice
it would be to have wedding pictures taken there (lots
of people do). Chris and his buds immediately started
planning on having the reception there and the sniper
nests that they could build to keep out the party
crashers and just pick them off as they tried to
enter. Needless to say we're not going anywhere near
Ann Arbor during the wedding & the place we do have
for the reception is mostly on one floor, just a
staircase up to the owner's office. I'll not have my
Groom and his groomsmen picking off guests, imaginary
or not. At least not as long as I can't play.

RED GREEN! Man he's cool. Now there's an Ork if I've
ever seen one! My future father in law and my best
friend's dad both look like Red Green, and yes, the
would both DEFINATELY be Orks.

Yeah, you get up into the Bell Tower or the Grad Library and you have a
great field of fire across most of Central Campus. I'm actually in a
wedding next month held in the Michigan League. Maybe I'll talk to the
groom (one of my players) about the need to post some extra security. ;)

An old PC in my campaign once bought a tuxedo, tailor-made from camouflage
cloth...

My best friend and I belong to an organization where
we have to wear formal gowns (floor legnth ect) for
special meetings and under certain cumstances,
officers can wear colored formals... we come this
*pinches fingers togeather* close to getting
camoflaudge formals made up. Instead my best friend
got one in tye dye.

I was always glad to be a boy when it came to this, I much preferred the
