I was wondering if someone on here would be kind enough to compare and contrast
"Corporate Shadowfiles" and "Corporate Download" for me? I have the
former, is the latter merely updated information? Or does this cover a different set of
corporations?

Thanks,

Well, they add the new "Big Ten" corporations to the list - and all the
corporations are described in _much_ more detail than in CS. To put it in a
context, CS was mostly about how corporations do business in general. CD is
about treating the corporations as fully fleshed-out NPCs.

I'd say that the new book is definitely worth your money even if you have
the old one.

I have to concur. Buy Corporate Download. It contains everything
from information on subsidiaries of each mega, to bios on each Board
of Directors. Metaplot threads hide admist entries detailing how
various corps have risen (and fallen). It reproduces information
from Corporate Shadowfiles about how various megas go about hiring
runners, and creates an abstract approach to stock market portfolios
on each mega. I don't find these very useful, but consider the book
worth it just for the profiles on each of the Big 10.

Same here, but I tended to buy anything that resembled a sourcebook.

I remember CS being an anamoly in the sourcebooks. Half of it was a
book about accounting and finance than anything SR related.

I disagree with your comment about the accounting and finance info being
not sr related. it was accounting and finance as relates to the economy
in the shadowrun setting, and includes many intersting options for
carrying your nuyen around, including hard cash, and bonds etc.

Agreed, in fact those particular rules helped me greatly in getting
plenty of idea's, and helped me more completely understand the
corporation point of view in SR. I've never studied economics on any
level, as such this book had information that I could use.

I also tend to buy just about any SB I can get my hands on, it is
extremely rare that I have acquired one that wasn't useful, and they
are always handy for, if nothing else, referencing cabal.

It's useful for filling the otherwise empty hole in my SR collection.

Amazing! It suited the exact same purpose for me!
