I only just recently joined this mailserver, and admittedly, I haven't been
able to follow the issue of "Shadowtalk, to be or not to be..." but I think the
two camps seem to be divided on the idea of:
1) Those opposed apparently feel "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" and
that it would be too difficult/troublesome solution to a problem whose
intensity is itself a matter of debate.

2) Those in favor tend to cite and emphasize the problems and
shortcommings of the present system, and feel this is the best solution.

Personally, I'm of the opinion of, "What harm could it do?" I say we
should give this new idea a TRY...if it works, great...if it doesn't, it
doesn't...and all the "I told you so's" can have a field day.
