Jack-O-Lantern states:
<note: non-verbatim> Cybereyes cost .5 essence and you can add on
any other optic enhancement at no further essence cost.

I have to disagree <readying flamethrower>
In the rules <SRI at least, I doubt it was changed in SRII>
it is stated that cyber-replacement eyes can accept .5 essence worth
of optical modification at no additional essence cost. (Sorry, I
don't have the rules with me or I'd give an example). Anything
above .5 is subtracted from your essence total. (Again, I can't cite
an example). Basically, cyber-replacement eyes gives you an essence
buffer of .5 for any further eye modification. (In short, when you
replace your eyes, you effectively have an extra .5 essence for
eye modifications only.) You do not gain .5 essecnce if you don't
use it, but you can heap .5 essence worth of eyewear in at no
additional essence cost.

On the "One Eyed Jack"
As a GM, my gut instinct would be to allow it (with a little fudgeing
to make it work) since it is a good idea (and a nice "hook" for a
character <excuse the champions/hero terminology>).
Having only one cyber-eye may not be possible depending on how
you interpret the rules. Probably the easiest way to simulate this
is by having one Normal appaering cybereye, and one chiba-style eye,
if in your campaign a human brain can't handle data from one real
eye and one cyber-eye.

Cost per eye????
Evidence from the given archetypes suggests that the price in the
book for cybereyes covers both eyes. It is only logical! It would
probably be a rare occurance that someone would only want one eye
replaced. (although you could justify that since eye replacements
started primarily to compensate people who lost an eye in an accident
inwhich case replacement of one eye would make sense, If you choose
to allow this, I'd suggest halving the listed price/essence cost to
get a cost per eye)

>>>>>>>[ You know, I never felt comfortable around people with
cybereyes
that deviate too far from normal. I personally wouldn't be able to
look at myself in the mirror if I had chiba eyes. My natural eyes were
pretty strange (amber with purple irises), but I still got the more
real looking replacements (now they are the same, but my pupils glow
with a dull red, like something out of a 1990's cyborg-from-the-future
flick!) and that's about as wacko as I can stand on myself. The only
reason they don't look exactly like the originals is because I found
that some posergangs who worship the old "Terminator" movies are more
cooperative to people who seem like they may have more chrome than
meets the eye (and they tend to know where the good street clinics
are when your chrome needs repairs!) ]<<<<<<<
