"Foolish mortals, tricks are for kids!"

-- Darkwatch, Magician

Alright now...fed up with this argument, I finally saw I had but ONE course of
action left...I contacted the Dark Lord on High...Tom Dowd himself, and posed
the question of "magical immunity" to him.

I mentioned my argument about physical spells, and he agreed with my reasoning.

He DID; however, agree with David's (since you decided to mention me by name
in your last post, putting credit where it's due--NOT A FLAME) "Weak Aura"
Theory, TO A POINT...

I paraphrase:

The logic IS correct, but it has to be carried further than a dead zero
essence level--to the point of NEGATIVE ESSENCE ( you heard me right ) to
receive any tangible benefits. Presently, there is no way in the rules as they
are now (including SR2) to do this.
Negative essence means, essentially, that one has more metal than flesh
(If you are thinking about _Terminator_ about now, you are right.) There WILL
be a supplement dealing with Cybernetic Organisms in the future, which will
have the aforementioned negative essence mentioned earlier. They will have a
whole new set of limitations along the lines of psychoses and mechanical and
cybernetic failures, due to the extreme effects on the human psyche when
reduced to such adverse conditions (cyber-psychosis taken to a unforeseeably
high level) and the highly expiramental nature of the new technology.

And as a I mentioned above...the Magic Negation would be swinging more towards
anti-mana spells, not so much for the physical spells, and I had argued
earlier.

Oh, and pleasant dreams, everyone...<<I'LL BE BACK.>>
