The problem with "robots" is that they simply aren't smart
enough. The amount of programming required to enable a robot to deal with
every conceivable situation would be ungodly. Until a viable AI construct
comes online and can be duplicated, real "robots" will not be possible.

Now, as for an android "remote" types thing, that I would call
conceivable. It would be very expensive. Just for shits-n-giggles, lets
say the cost would be . . . oh . . . . 100x the cost of the individual
components for a prototype, 10x for a production model.

Very conceivable. Very expensive. More money than you can
imagine. Truckloads and truckloads of it. Thus only avanced corps will
have it and there is no way that your typical (or even atypical) runner is
going to be able to get his/her paws on it. Period.

Because FASA wants Shadowrun to be a magic oriented game and
doesn't devote nealy enough time to techy stuff, IMHO.
