Ok, so I won't tell you. :-) Seriously, the drain, according to all the rules,
is only resisted when you actually _cast_ the spell. The drain is caused by
the mage having to open a channel or pathway to the etheral plane for the magic
energy to flow out of. Once that pathway is open, the mage needs to concentrate
to keep it open. The +2 penalty to all T#s reflects this. This means that the
mage, instead of a fairly easy 4, would now need a tough 6 on a normal test.

I do however go beyond the rules a bit, in that I require the mage to make
willpower rolls vs other distractions to sustain a spell. For example, if a
mage is sustaining a spell, and gets shot, he needs to make a willpower roll
to keep from dropping the spell due to the pain and distraction.

Wound Level Light Moderate Severe
T# 4 6 8

+2 for each spell maintained plus any modifiers for existing wounds.
Only one success is neccessary to maintain the spell, but seperate rolls are
made for each spell maintained.

If you want further penalties, here are some ideas I came up with, but rejected
because I felt the existing rules were ok:

a) require that the mage allocate 1 die from their magic pool to sustaining
a spell. Their T#s are high, and they have 1 less die to work with.

b) if they drop the spell due to a distraction, have them resist drain again,
due to the shock of the uncontrolled closure of the pathway for the magic
energy.

Again, I do not use these, as I feel the high T#s are bad enough.

Any comments are welcome.
