Bzzzt! Sir Isaac Newton says "no way; for every action there is an
equal and opposite reaction." The same goes for railguns. If you
accelerate a projectile, regardless of the nature of the projectile or
the nature of the acceleration, there will be recoil.
This is also why "knockback" is a fallacy, for if a bullet could knock
a man 10 feet, then the person firing said round would travel
*backwards* 10 feet.
