Well, here I am, back from break and relearning all the VAX
commands that I forgot over break. After a week of leaving
the notebook with everyone's address I am finally able to send
as well as receive. (Yes, I'm a hacker wimp-I haven't yet memorized
that meaningless string of characters that sends bits of data from
me to you.) Anyway, Iv'e gone through the hundred-odd messages left
here while I was away and have some comments (from what I can remember).
1-What is so upsetting about Nega-Mages? From a GM standpoint, I
love'em, especially if the players don't download the article and treat
every book from FASA as part of some ever-expanding bible set. Note
that though the mage himself is immune to that Force 6 Fireball, the car
he's standing next to isn't. And bullets seem to be frighteningly
effective against someone without some sort of missile barrier. And the
man will never be too fast, either, since cyberware can potentially
ruin his power.
I admit, I wouldn't recommend it for a PC template-he seems more
like a plot device, something new to throw at the players if they get
jaded (Security Guards again? Come on, give us a real threat). As an
NPC, I can see using him as the Company Man from hell, or as the hook
into a mystery adventure-"You see a man clutching a bloodied stomach
in the alley, not unusual these days, but he seems somehow out of
place. Your healing magic doesn't seem to work. . ."

These messages were posted a long time ago on a mailing list far, far away.
