the event of two duplicates being posted as well, my sincerest apologies! ]
Due to a number of recent requests, I decided to 'hunt down' my archive file of
Tom Dowd's answer to grounding through quickenings.
So, a selection from the Doom Chronicles...

Well, I jut recently had a discussion with The Dark Lord on High, Tom Dowd, and
another member of my group convinced me to post my findings to the listserv, so
here goes...
[...material not pertinent to the matter at hand deleted...]
5. Grounding through Quickenings. Does it work?
YES, it is possible. And for all you nay-sayers, he dismissed the idea that
it's impossible because there is no material link (or anchor or whatever).
[Yes, to you who posted earlier on this topic ( No names, as it would be taken
as a flame), it is SAFER, but it isn't completely safe.] Although, there were
some limitations placed on this ability, to be sure. For one, one cannot
ground a Mana Spell through the Quickening's link. Further, any area of effect
Physical Spell will not proceed out to the surroundings. In other words, you
can ground a Fire Ball this way, but you will only scorch the mage, not the
immediate vicinity.
I hope, meine Kamaraden, you found this helpful or enlightening.
