I do believe the orginal question was basically this

"Is it possible to ground a spell through a quickening"

ANSWER= === NO!!!!!!!

now for the why

SPELL LOCKS SRII pg 138 2nd col 1st par
magician who creates can activate and deactivate at will

2nd par
as long as the focus is working (active), a thread of astral
energy connects the lock to its creator

Attacking through a focus SRIIpg 139 summary
an active magical focus creates a bridge between astral and
mundane space. as spell can not normally travel between the two, only
under certain conditions will this happen. SPELL CASTING IS NOT ONE OF
THESE CONDITIONS

because the spell is effecting the PHYSICAL MATERIALS
of the focus, the spell must be PHYSICAL. MAGES PROJECTING ARE
CONSIDERED PHYSICAL MATERIALS.


ASTRAL COMBAT -SPELLS SRII pg 148 col 1, 5 par.

a magician CAN NOT CAST A SPELL AT ANOTHER SPELL
but he can cast one at another astral being
( these being spirits, astral mages, and active focuses)


QUICKENING GII pg 44 2nd col summarry
makes a sustained spell perminent without a spell lock.

quickening can be broken by a magician in combat or by
a dispelling


MAGICAL ENTITIES GII pg 87
Foci are astrally active only when actively in use
quickened spells are always active. (no real bearing)



now when a spell is grounded (only physical spells) it is using
a magically active PHYSICAL OBJECT as its bridge, ie person
who is in astral or an active foci.
A QUICKENED SPELL passes by the restriction
that the only way to bridge the astral/mundane is to ground
on an active physical object

the only thing to a quickening is its magical power
IT HAS NO PHYSICAL PRESENCE
this is why you can quicken a mana spell

since it is not possible to attack a spell with a spell
and there is no physical thing to ground on

QUICKENINGS CAN NOT BE USED TO GROUND ON!!!!

( ps this was why quickenings were made and why they cost so
much karma. in exchange for protection from grounding
they cost more in karma. if they didn't why would anyone
quicken a spell!!!!????!!!!!)

pps try stacking then quickening (watch for drain)
