Howdy All:

I have just begun to play a rigger in an SR II game. And to be
quite frank; I believe there should be more to this rigging
stuff than to be an overly cybered taxi-cab. I really am NOT
enjoying the Pilot aspect (as in driving/flying everyone to
the job sites) and was hoping to augment my initial disappointment
with some drone work that is plausible and beneficial.

Since I cannot employ any form of Stealth via an RPV, it seems
difficult to join the team via a Doberman, or something along
those lines.

I am trying to find some way of 'participating' but am failing
miserably as the team heads in for the extraction and I sit
waxing my rotors doing nothing while they head into the job,
gain the objectives, and a few sideline 'prizes' for themselves.

What other things can a rigger do to beenfit his group? Let me
intialize this with a disclaimer: I hate to jump into someone
else's job- ie do all the firefights for the samurai, etc.

I really dislike the idea of upgrading myself to the point that
I can exit the vehicle to join the team- I somewhat like the
idea of *not* being able to keep up with the samurai et.al.

One potential idea I have is to equip a drone with a pair of
arms. But since FASA, in their finite wisdom, have never
provided guidelines for such things, I am looking for ball-park
suggestions.

Right Now I have the following:

Condor w/ Trid Player: In effect it follows the team into non-
tense situations and projects an image of yours truly with relays
so that I can converse.

Microskimmer w/ Camcorder: to record events for the team, and our
employers.

Micorskimmer with a HIGH ECM and magnetic clamps: Just to
screw with your opponent; I gather that once the ECM goes
into effect, you would lose contact with drone, that is why
you clamp it down with mag, then kick in the ECM...

Crawler w/ Flashpack: A defensive line for our team, I want to
eventually lead a few of these along our path and provide a
minimal diversion in case our team has to back out suddenly.

Boom-boom: A Microskimmer w/ C-12. yes I know it is dangerous,
but we keep it flying just in case....

Armed Rotodrone w/ 2 Netguns: Once again, a support system for
our team in case they are outnumbered.

Drone Helmets: Kinda like the systems used in Aliens II, where
the cowardly capt. could keep in touch with the ground team and
track their vitals while they were summarily slaughtered...

Since Skillwires override the natural skills of the user....
Could ya develop a drone that would have a chipjack adapter and
allow the decker the ability to take control of a person?
Perhaps something that is not even mobile, like a slave collar
with Sensors or cameras for the Rigger to operate out of? If
not on a living body then how about on a corpse with skillwires?
(I am sure ya too have run into at least one of these types...)

I know that some of the above are costly; but money is not that
big of a problem- the team seems slightly overpaid lately.

Questions:
Has anyone else encountered this lethargy while playing a rigger?
Has anyone come up with solutions?
Has Anyone Designed any of their own drones?
Any prices on robotic arms for a drone?
Dimensions on a CF ?
Can you ambush using a drone in SRII ?
Given no port limitation on a Remote Deck, is there any other
limitation on the number of drones a Rigger can operate at
one time?
What does an ECM system do to non-vehicle systems such as
cyberware? Radio helmets? Electronics in Security Armour?
Computers?
