Herr Doktor Doom,
I am writing to reply to your inquiry as to my association mit
dem Vaterland. My father, a music teacher, was in the army band for almost
6 years. The latter half were spent in Deutschland. First, from 8th to 10th
grade I lived in Ansbach, a small town about an hour south of Nuernberg.
The summer before my Junior year, my father left the military to teach music
at an American middle school in Heidelberg. My Junior Prom was in Heidelberg
Schloss (I went w/o a date). Anyway, that was almost three years ago. I left
the summer after the wall fell, due to projected cutbacks in troop strength.
I am interested in seeing Germany, which finally united mere months after
I left.
