one of the original Shadowrun novels (The Sam Verner, secrets of power ones...)
Anyways, in those, a Dwarf rigger at some point breaks into a building and at
the security desk, pulls out a cable, and jacks in. The book made assorted
references the rigger knowing where everybody in the building was, having
access to assorted power shutdowns, weapon systems, and alarms... While I
originally saw it as rigger work, the rigger is sorta becoming one with the
building in this fashion, and operating many many nodes at once, which --I
THINK--is beyond the realm of the decker...
This concept was further detailed somewhere on the line, My initial
reaction was that it was in SRII, but after thinking about it, I'd check
NAGRL... after all, it does have the huge section on security at the start, and
it probably mentions riggers doing this somewhere in there...
However, I'd have absolutely no idea what sorta success test would be
involved here... I mean, there shouldn't be any IC to overcome, cuz it's an
inside job, just doing what the console was designed for... However, just
saying 'Alright, you succeed' sounds a wee bit too simple for my tastes...
