] So, an interesting question for the paranormals on the list:
]What are the legal aspects of being nonhuman (in the broad sense)?

>>>>>[Speaking from personal experience, it's rather like being AmerIndian
in
the latter part of the 20th century. You have legal rights, but they are
difficult to enforce. The best suggestion is that, though you may have rights
(in the world of the corps that don't mean much), stay clear of suspicion. (Not
the same as trouble). Having had the "benefit" of being "deemed" a
"sentient
being" (no, I'm not bitter!!!) , sasquatches enjoy similar rights to humans in
the most general sense in most areas. The right to own land is an exception,
as is the right to vote, both usually nonexistant or mediated through another
party. Other standard rights apply; search and seizure (hee-hee), trial by
jury (who are my peers?), and others are "generously extended" to such as
myself (me?? Who's bitter?) Being a sasquatch, however, gives one tremendous
power, in the form of the Entertainment community, which no government will
cross for long. However, the metahuman activist groups are known to be _very_
helpful in a crisis, from day on to the end (especially if your case is a
potential soapbox).]<<<<<

]We know it's possible to live an open life as a vampire in San Francisco
](someone's doing it, cf NAGTNA), but what about weres and the more
]exotic? One of the encounters in SPRAWL SITES suggests that weres are
]not considered 'human' and protected by laws in either form, although the
]evidence is slim (the encounter is with an eagle were, which doesn't
]exist in the normal rules -- love those wacky FASA people). PARANORMAL
]ANIMALS suggests that a number of species are broadly considered 'human',
]but never lists them (of course, in Quebec they're considering not calling
]trolls human -- if I was a Sasquatch, I'd stay far away); has anyone's GM
]done up a list?

>>>>>[No plans to go back north for a long, long time. Humans sure are
quirky
people. Why do you have to own land??? Isn't the fact that it's there
enough? Personally, if you are not justifiably human, stay clear of humans
except when necessary. If you're a shifter, stay human and no one will be the
wizer, hopefully. Camoflague people, camoflague. No listing for humans, but
give Doom enough time and he'll download something from the government of your
choice :) ]<<<<<
