Actually, therein lies another ball of yarn: does conservation of momentum,
inertia, and kinetic energy occur? DO you actually have to "move" uphill if
you get "squirted" through astral space? Couldn't it just squirt you through
to the exact point? Distances (I believe) are a different concept in astral
space.

Another way to do it is to give off heat, light, and possibly sound... the
distinctive *bamf* could be due to the production of sound.

But can you regain that body? Sure, you lose some weight after teleportation.
However, you COULD just eat some peanuts (HHGttG), or a Big Mac & Fries. OR,
you need to set off a fetish when you go *bamf*, like a magnesium flare or
something... Granted, it's not that sneaky, but it would solve your problem
