in my games for some time now. Right now, our magicians still hold the
most raw power, but they all have a healthy respect for the burst fire
from an assault rifle...
As to downplaying magic, I had another idea, much to the dismay
of my players.
I intend on running a game (or few) WITHOUT ACCESS TO ASTRAL
SPACE....
Basically, my reasoning is simple: Assensing.
Want to introduce a neat NPC were? Bzzt. The mage just saw his
alternate form.
Want the players to walk into the lair of a magician? Bzzt...
Mage just saw the lodge, the ward, the circle, etc...
Want to Lie? Bzzt.. Aseensing = Lie Detector.
Want to eves-drop with a spirit? Bzzt... Saw it...
How about the neat tricks a Free Spirit can do? Without Aura
Masking? - Sorry Charlie....
Need to scout the building? Who needs drones; Astral Projection!
Want to thicken the plot with some interesting Quickenings?
Not in this Astral Space you won't!
How about a simple Illusion- Invisibility. Walking past the dual
mage.... Sucker...
So, I am intending to run a few games without the power. The
magicians have no fear of all those powers relying on Assensing, we will
find a way around it. As for the physical adept who bought assensing...
guess they won't be around for the games or will live without the talent
temporarily.
Hmmm got the perfect module for this test: Bottled Demon!
Well off to study for my Proseminar now.....

P.S. Disregard the Warding question- found my answer in the Grim, ya
need to have Astral Projection to make wards....
