I personally agree with you that the benifits seem to outway the
penalty. I do think that most hermetics wont though just because they are
devoted to the study, and utilization of magic. To them this would be a
dilution of their ability to learn and utilize magic. What you have
though would be a combat mage. One who is more concerned with getting
things done than just how good their conection with magic is. To those
people the coust would be well worth it. They would probably go ahead and
want to get just the type of package you were talking about. They might
make minor changes in the eyeware, and get optic instead of electronic mag
as the space is there.

P.S. how many of you have GM who rule that Ivisability does cover the
IR range and keeps you from using this as an easy way to see invis. Also
how many have GM's who say that you can not recognize people with
electronic mag at longer ranges.
