OK. after GMing the same people (PCs) for three years, once per week regular,
two or three times per week during summer vacation - I had a weretiger, werewol
f, Immortal (Highlander-physical Adept), and a micro-dragon (only 12 feet long
in dracoform, essence 9) --- and thems just the players. Shaman and Toxic Avata
rs were longterm enemy NPCs. Trust me, I did a lot of thought on certain Supern
atural facets of existence. Regeneration worked like this - essence was used as
a regeneration pool, the target number was 12 - Essence value. The amount of su
ccess gotten was the amount of BOXES of damage to be reduced evenly throughout
the whole round. Supernatural creatures could regenerate all damage not caused
by something they are "allergic" to. Werecreatures could not regen silver or fi
re damage, ditto vamps, regen does occur even if PC tok damage above deadly
(hence the myths of these creatures coming back to life), rule of ones still ap
ply. Alternately, the target number could be the amount of successes the oppone
nt got against the defending were/vamp/draco/etc... I have also tremendously
enjoyed running these characters . . . remember GMs are artists not technicians
- rules are guidelines, but toughness and fairness and fun are more important.
The thing to keep in mind is to make characters work for these special privileg
es. My players busted their asses over 2 years getting to be that powerful,
in campaigns that were exceedingly devious (but only normally deadly).
