An interesting assumption; although it is completely devoid of any basis in
fact as well as failing to at address the true nature of my query. Indeed, I
am quite capable of conceiving of the implications of a feasible process
whereby one may transfer one's physical presence into the the Astral Plane, and
your claims to the contrary are counterfactual arguments. My question is,
considering the potent potential perils encountered, why would someone engage
in such activity?

Given the Drain Code of the spell (and what precisely do you mean by Double
Deadly? Is this similar to ShadowRun I's phenomena of Deadly+ damage, or does
it indicate one runs the gamut of the damage categories twice? If the latter
is true, then one would require no less than TEN successes to prevent being
knocked unconscious.) there is obviously considerable vicissitude encountered
when casting this spell. Why go to such lengths for so little return? To stay
in the Astral Plane for a standard combat turn would require target numbers of
6 (actually, 7, but there is no experienced difference). Depending on how the
scale is affected by this Double Deadly damage code, as I alluded to earlier,
an exorbinant amount of successes is required to execute it; further, given
the adverse consequences of failure, why court such disaster?

The ability to exploit the possible implications of this ability are narrowed
considerably in scope when one considers the poignantly brief periods one may
spend there. One's horizons are limited by Father Time to such a degree the
liabilities appear to outweigh the benefits.
